《Twilight Zone》怪力亂神，普天同慶

3/27星期三晚台北場的課堂上，(因為討論到Crewdson的作品）我談到我最愛的美國電視影集《Twilight Zone》。

 《Twilight Zone》電視影集特色：
科幻，神秘，鬼怪，幻想，懸疑，恐怖，時空混淆，心理驚悚，荒誕不經，最後來個意想不到的轉折。

涉及的主題：
例如種族主義，政府，戰爭，社會生活，環境生態，人的本性.....
這些嚴肅議題，結合通俗小說的故事情節。

 

《Twilight Zone》從1959年開播以來，美國電視台不斷重播，尤其在美國國慶日、新年期間，24小時的馬拉松播出。

所以，放假時期到處關門無處可去在家看《Twilight Zone》24小時馬拉松連續數日，真是非常過癮的事。這也是我在美國生活最美好的時光之一。

《Twilight Zone》開播以來這麽多年，不斷重播，尤其歷年來，在美國國慶日24小時馬拉松重播，以怪力亂神向國家致敬，普天同慶。這是美國人的詼諧幽默。

在冷戰年代，這樣的影集具有反諷的顛覆力。

這是由Rod Serling製作與創作劇本，許多粉絲主動成立團體，所有参與演員一再被記憶懷念。

 2013年的 TV Guide (美國最大銷售量的刊物）票選
The 60 Greatest Dramas of All Time，《Twilight Zone》排名第四。

  

每集的開場白，最精典了，充分表達了《Twilight Zone》的精神：

You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the Twilight Zone! 

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into... the Twilight Zone. 

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call "The Twilight Zone".
