被轟炸的圖書館 at Holland House, Kensington, London

An interior view of the bombed library at Holland House, Kensington, London, with readers apparently choosing books regardless. Photographed in 1940.

Books continue each other in spite of our habit of judging them separately.
(Virginia Woolf, A Room of One’s Own (New York: Harcourt Brace, 1989 [1929]), p. 80)

Any text is constructed as a mosaic of quotations; any text is the absorption and transformation of another. The notion of intertextuality replaces that of intersubjectivity.

Telling the History of Photographic Processes,

from Daguerreotypes to Digital

 Mark Osterman

Joan Fontcuberta:

Joan Fontcuberta:
"My mission is to warn people about the possibility that photography can be doctored..."

Joan Fontcuberta

Fauna, also known as "Dr. Ameisenhaufen's Fauna" or "Secret Fauna", challenges the notion of "scientific truth".

Fontcuberta

From the Miracles series (c) Joan Fontcuberta

Sirena del Tormes, 2006, from Sirens (c) Joan Fontcuberta

Des monstres et des prodiges, Musée-Château, Annecy, February-May 2008. An example of Fontcuberta's installation approach, and his interest in the museum: “I’m interested in the authority of museums. When they deal with science they impose filters on how we see the world. It’s an authoritarian way of imposing a particular kind of knowledge on people, and photography is used to add pressure to that knowledge."

Discovery Award 2014“, at the 45th Les Rencontres d'Arles festival in France

Discovery Award 2014”

Kechun Zhang wins Discovery Award 2014
at the 45th Les Rencontres d'Arles festival in France

http://www.zhangkechun.com/
